Common Symptoms of a Faulty Steering Lock Module

• Vehicle takes multiple attempts to start

• Clicking noise when the key is inserted

• Fault code 00288:Steering Lock Actuator (N360)

• No ignition / car won't start

• Immobilizer active / vehicle immobilized

Do I Need to Adapt or Reprogram the Module?

No adaptation or reprogramming is required if your vehicle can still start (even after several tries). Simply replace the faulty components using this repair kit and reinstall the module.

Important: If your car still starts, the immobilizer and steering lock system are not fully disabled. In such cases, coding is not necessary.

Installation Notes

• The module is located on the lower half of the steering column

• You do NOT need to remove the entire steering lock to access it

• This kit repairs common micro switch and relay issues

• This kit will NOT fix the problem if the motor inside the module is damaged

This repair requires soldering skills. We strongly advise that only individuals with proper soldering experience or certified technicians carry out the installation. Improper soldering may result in damage and will void any return rights. 

🔧 Tools Required for Soldering Chips:

1. Soldering Iron (15–30W)

   • With a fine tip for precision work on small components.

   • Temperature-controlled recommended.

2. Solder (0.3–0.6 mm)

   • Leaded solder (e.g. 60/40 or 63/37 Sn/Pb) is easier to work with.

   • Use rosin-core solder for electronics.

3. Flux Pen or Liquid Flux

   • Helps solder flow and improves connections.

   • Essential for clean, strong joints.

4. Desoldering Pump or Desoldering Braid

   • To remove old or excess solder without damaging the board.

5. Fine Tweezers

   • For handling tiny chips, micro switches, or SMD components.

6. Magnifying Glass or Microscope

   • To see small solder points clearly and avoid bridging.

7. Precision Screwdrivers

   • For opening and accessing the module safely.

8. PCB Holder or Helping Hands Tool

   • To keep the board steady during soldering.

9. Isopropyl Alcohol (99%) & Soft Brush

   • For cleaning solder flux residue from the board.
